A sound understanding of Anatomy, Physiology (A&P) and some basic Pathology is a requirement to train in the two-year professional practitioner Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy training (PPT) with Stillness Trainings.  Ideally this study is completed before the commencement of the training, however it may be studied concurrently and completed as early as possible.

We believe that a sound understanding of A&P comes from 80 hours or more of study in Anatomy and Physiology, including some Pathology and we offer a basic course of guided self-study plus tutorials and quizzes.  Eighty hours of A&P study is also a PACT requirement for School’s accreditation.

There are nine sessions of contact with the tutor, spaced approximately one month apart.  These sessions offer students an overview of the human body, including its systems and how these systems work.  More in-depth Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology are explored throughout the practitioner training relevant to the topic of each seminar.

We recommend the course to students whose memory of A&P is a bit rusty and there is the option for these students to register for one or more of the sessions as a refresher for particular topics.

The 80 hours comprises:

Home study time is recommended as a minimum of two hours per week and includes:

Reading the tutorial information sent before each session.

Drawing, labelling and colouring pictures of various aspects of A&P.

More in-depth investigation of previous body systems studied.

Preparation for two ten-minute presentations to the tutor, and other students if you are studying in a group.  These will be body systems that are either interesting to you or difficult to understand.

Student’s research through resources such as the Internet, reading, YouTube.

For you to gain a more in-depth and more useful knowledge of the body and to support growth in confidence with the work, we strongly advise that you research the A&P as well as symptoms and aetiology in relationship to your client’s history.
On completion of these sessions and a pass in the final multiple-choice questionnaire, you will receive a formal Certificate of Completion.

How the sessions work

All sessions will be conducted via Skype/group Skype. By request, some sessions may be possible face-to-face.
Except for the first session, each session will comprise:

Answering a questionnaire of ten multiple-choice questions that relate to the previous session.

Discussion with the tutor or group what extra information you can bring to the table from the previous subject(s).

Review of home study or student presentations, setting the scene for the next session.
A final session to complete an all-encompassing multiple choice questionnaire.

Sessions are approximately 1.5 hours in duration and take place roughly every four weeks.
